Instructions

• Set the scene, you have a number of new cubs starting next term and that you want them to help them to feel welcome on their first night
• Ask the question to the cubs, what made you feel welcome? Note down the responses
• Ask the question to the cubs, what made you nervous when you started? Note down the responses
• Ask the question to the cubs, what could you do to make somebody feel welcome?
• Then, set the task for cubs to come up with an activity which takes into account all of the above answers. This can be done individually, or as small groups.
• THEN, LEAD this session when the new starters join. This is what achieves the award!
