Welcome to Adult Training
Volunteers are at the heart of Scouting and we hope that you will get every bit as much out of it as you put in. To help you to be effective in your role we provide training and support to help you do your role, stay safe and protect young people.
The Gloucestershire County training team provides a programme of training to build on and enhance your existing skills and knowledge. Some elements of training can count towards externally-recognised qualifications while others help build confidence and develop you as a person.
An introduction to the adult training scheme can be found in the Adult Personal File for section leadership or the Adult Personal File for Managers and Supporters you can find out about each of the modules the learner resources available to support them. You will also be given a training advisor from your District to help guide you through your training.
The Adult training scheme contains a number of modules, but don’t worry you do not have to do them all. A summary of the modules, and ways to access them can be found in our Module Matrix.

We have been working hard over the last few months to develop solutions that will allow us to deliver the Core Modules and Young Leader training remotely. Most modules can be delivered through an Online Classroom (the exceptions being 8, 9 & 18).
We are hopeful that we will be able to recommence some face to face training from July 2021 onwards.
Find out when and where training courses are running and book a place online, by visiting our new booking system.
Some modules can also be completed via a workbook – please visit our page on Remote Learning to find out what modules you can access at home.
Remember to send any certificates or workbooks from Remote Learning to your TA and arrange to validate your learning through conversation – consider using a video call!
