Gloucestershire Scouts are looking for enthusiastic young adults to apply for the role of County Youth Commissioner. Our current County Youth Commissioner is stepping down after 4 years and we are looking for someone new to take on this exciting and challenging role!
The main role of the County Youth Commissioner is to champion youth shaped scouting across Gloucestershire, working with county, district and group teams to provide opportunities for young people to shape their scouting.
We are looking for someone with passion for youth shaped scouting, willingness to learn and develop, enthusiasm and forward thinking. As part of the role, you will be expected to complete a manager and supporter wood badge which will give you opportunities to attend training and learn from experienced managers.
The current County Youth Commissioner is stepping down at the county AGM in September and we are looking to have a handover period of about 6 months. To allow for this, the start date for the role will be 31st March so to apply you must be under 25 on this date. We are also opening applications to older Explorers so you can apply if you will be 18 by 31st August (i.e. In your A-level year).
