Our Equlity and Inclusion strategy 2021-2025
To help us focus on helping to make Scouting in Gloucestershire as inclusive and welcoming as we can, our Inclusion team and Assistant County Commissioner for Inclusion have developed some simple plans to help us.
Here is a high level view of our plan to create an inclusive movement within Gloucestershire Scouts.
Who
This is for all involved in Gloucestershire Scouting, at all levels, whatever role
they have and for every age group.
What
We will focus on our County being a place where everyone feels respected,
included and is treated fairly with equal opportunities for all.
Why
To create an environment where we can all be ourselves whilst working with
amazing people all performing to the best of our abilities and working in a supportive and flexible environment where we understand and respect each other’s differences.
How
By building confidence through awareness and training, encouraging our adults
to lead by example and promote a culture of respect and inclusion whilst providing support for those with additional needs by making reasonable adjustments, making any decisions promptly in a fair and equitable way and promote discussion regularly at Group/District/County meetings including Executive Committee meeting
