Following the passing of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 8th September, 120 Scouts aged 18 -25 from across the UK have volunteered to support the thousands of people who will be paying their respects to HM Queen in London during this week.
Hettie Smith from the Forest of Dean District has been chosen from the large number of applications received at headquarters
Hettie has travelled to London where she will be supported by a team of Headquarters staff and volunteers from now up until the day of the funeral.
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport will be promoting case studies of all the young people who have volunteered and these will be available to read on the Scout Association’s own social channels.
We are extremely proud of Hettie and hold her in our thoughts and prayers as she undertakes this important role over the next four days.
